Founder
Jean Claude LaMarre
Jean Claude LaMarre is an accomplished filmmaker, producer, director, writer, and actor with more than two decades of experience in independent and studio-backed productions.
He is the creative force behind culturally impactful films including Color of the Cross, Chocolate City, Nora’s Hair Salon, Kinky, Gang of Roses, Go for Broke, Sugar Valentine, and numerous other titles distributed through major networks and studios including Paramount, FOX, ABC, STARZ, and Sony.
LaMarre built his career on identifying and serving audiences often overlooked by mainstream Hollywood — particularly Black women — long before diversity became an industry mandate. His work consistently blends commercial appeal with cultural authenticity, creating stories that resonate emotionally while performing across domestic and international markets.
Beyond film, he expanded into live theatrical production and experiential entertainment, establishing The LaMarre Theater as a creative hub for culturally driven performances.
His vision remains focused on ownership, narrative control, and building scalable platforms that serve audiences with intention, respect, and long-term cultural impact.
